I'm at work on a Saturday, not really doing much of anything, just cleaning up some stuff. I'm also watching Josh wander around and do stuff in his room on his Webcam, which amuses me more than i thought it would.
I was supposed to have a new fridge delivered Thursday. I stayed home the entire day in order to facilitate this; but no dice. I think i'm going to go buy a cooler tonight, so I can empty my fridge Monday morning and let the landlady come in and take away the old fridge and leave the new one without me having to be there.
My old fridge is small and has the freezer compartment inside the fridge compartment, and needs defrosting about once a month, which is a pain in the rear. Getting a new one will be a good and happy thing.

I'm back on ICQ, and enjoying it again--I'll only be on during work, since ICQ for the Mac sucks, sucks, sucks. but my number is 12218809, if any of you lovely people care to talk to me.
I'm watching Josh on his Webcam right now. It's oddly amusing. Hi, Josh!

Break for food. I think i'm going to go get something at PCC today.

Mmm. Jamacian chicken drumettes. rock.
So next week I start working on getting myself back in shape. I've got this plan to walk back and forth to work, and I'll be modifying my diet and drinking lots and lots of water.
Work hard. Play harder. Sleep when you need it. Read everything.
I also broke my coffee maker the other morning, so i need a new one of those, too. i think after I'm done here at work, i'll run up to Fred Meyer and go get one.

I miss Melanie. *sighs* My back is starting to protest stress again, and it's making me grumpy. Time to change my lifestyle, indeed.

the result of this week's 10-minutes writing exercise on the subject of "a simple request":
another saturday morning
but i steal from you while
you're sleeping, turn back the covers,
bring coffee and scones and the news
of the morning--the bombs are falling
elsewhere, the innocent paying,
the taxes high and the paper, as we look
in horror, is bleeding on the quilt.
this is not the breakfast I wanted to give
you, dear. so let's dress. I've got your smokes
and the car is warming on the street.
you can fill a thermos while I wrap
some leftovers in plastic. We'll go.
There's a whole mountain waiting
off in another country--a straight
blood-heat run to the border,
the trees spiking the sky as we pass--
and once there, the destination
will change, what we flee from
and what we go toward will
intertwine. so, love,
are you ready?
can we go?
