September 29, 2001: things done
So. Cat is fixed. He went in Wendesday morning and came out that evening all woozy and wobbly. It was funny and sad at the same time to see him walk a few steps and then fall over. He came out of the dental surgery a very grumpy cat, not wanting to be held or touched, but the next day he was all about getting love.
Then I got the car fixed. The guys told me that the thing that was clanking in the undercarriage was my *engine*, as i had three bad motor mounts. Well, i got those replaced and they're fine, but, um, the car's still clanking. heh. I'll take it in next week and see what they say. It can't be anything *too* serious...
And in the final chapter of Getting Stuff Done, I got a haircut yesterday.

I love my hairdresser. He's a big guy, maybe 6'4", and just a touch heavyset. He is also very, very gay. There is just something reassuring about having one's hair cut by someone who's camping it up for you.
So I got about a foot cut off the ends, and I got bangs put in. The haircut took five years off of me. I now look much younger than my actual age, where before I looked just sort of timelessly adult and sort of pre-Raphealite.
It's been...odd. I'm used to having much *more* hair, used to constantly having to brush it out of my eyes or spit it out of my mouth. I look at my face reflected in the glass of a storefront and I don't recognize myself. Bangs really change the shape of my face, in a way that I really like.
I got rid of the bangs originally as a reflection on the outside of changes that were happening inside, in a period of mourning. I wanted to come to terms with my whole face. over three years later, after having completely grown them out, I decided that bangs were going to need to go back in, posthaste.
Even I can agree that my hair is cute, right now. It is, unfortunately, going to be a pain in the butt to put up until it grows another few inches, but it's no longer all scraggly, which is the biggest bonus of all.
Okay, I'm done being vain for the night.
