{vote for me, pretty please?}

December 10, 2001: when two and two are five
I am godawful cheerful this morning.

Despite getting my ass out of bed at 5:30 to go lift weights and having a surprisingly unrestful second half of the night, I am positively chipper this morning. (The reason for the unrestful sleep last night? Well, all three cats decided they wanted *my* spot on the right side of the bed. I slept on the left side, which is the WRONG SIDE. I kept on dreaming about falling out of bed.)

But yes. Cheerful. Chipper. Bright-eyed and bushy tailed.

I had a pretty damned good weekend. Friday, I went to my division holiday party for a couple of hours (the highlight was watching a Carrie-Ann Moss lookalike do hiphop dancing) and then to the Spot for my first-ever HotSpot party.

I got to watch a Sybian in action, and that was one of the sexiest things I have seen in a long, long time. (Not the toy itself. The girl riding it.) And, well, other stuff happened, all of it surprising and utterly delightful.

I got home about midnightish, crashed, and then got up the next morning to go down to Auburn with Chris. He needed a jacket, so headed down to the Burlington Coat Factory at the outlet mall down there.

The mall itself wasn't that bad. I had weird blood sugar things going on, which were making me alternately dizzy and grumpy, but at least the place wasn't all-to-wall people. We found Chris a coat and me a pair of gloves and a folding bag with wheels (to facilitate walking trips to the grocery store), went through the Mikasa store, and then scrammed. We did a kamakaze run through Ikea, and then headed back north, where we crashed out for a while at my place and talked about some stuff that had triggered him on Friday night. (He also brought up a possibility that I'd rejected out of hand earlier that I'm now considering. Heh.)

And on Sunday, I cleaned, wrapped every single one of the presents I have my hands on currently, went to a party at Torin and Cindy's, and picked up Sterling and her husband from the airport and gave them a ride home.

I'm feeling pretty good about my life, right now. Knots have come loosened, and there are interesting new possibilities on the horizon, as well as very surprising-in-a-good-way things happening now. I'm feeling kind of mellow, like I'm getting a hint from Somewhere that I've been taking myself and my life way too seriously and I should just chill.

I got my flu shot today. There was no line, and three nurses standing around looking bored. I signed a piece of paper, pulled up my sleeve, and the nurse did the wipe, stick, plunge, bandaid routine. It took three minutes total, and most of that was signing the paper. My arm hurts a little bit, but it's honestly not that bad, and I'm not having the general reaction to it this year that I did last year and the year before. (Maybe I already came down with this flu? hm.)

I have a clean house, happiness going on in my life, and enough room and time to appreciate it.

I like how things are going, and I think I'm just going to sit back and see where things will go from here.
