June 4th; long years in a hot house zone

Dream:

I was walking a dog somewhere I'd never been before--there were hundreds of border collies trying to herd us around, and we were lost and confused. Then the collies were sheep, and the owners of the collies got mad at us, wanting to know why we had 'emasculated' their dogs.

I said, "I don't know, I was just trying to get over that hill!"

"Sunny came home with a vengeance."

Reality:

Mmmmhi. It's me again.

(oh, like it would be anyone else.)

So I'm heading into my 11th hour of work, and I've decided I'm officially addicted to the Web, because I was trying to think of ways I could update while I was on the road. Uh, duh, Kris, it's a VACATION. Vacations are to get away from everything, including one's own Web site.

That hasn't stopped me from making a kick-ass splash graphic that'll be up while i'm gone. Muah. And, of course, i'll be keeping a travel journal as I generally do, so parts of that may make it up here eventually. And, of course, pictures from the dark heart of the country are always a necessity.

I might even take a picture of everyone who sees me while I'm there. wouldn't that be something?

There's not much more I have to say right now. Work is crazy and I'm getting a ride home in ten minutes.

ohyeah. new poem:

all the airbourne spiders

I was hanging bridgewise
from the spans, over water
grey with sky, the rocking
of my cradle-flesh bloody
and rotten. I was dreaming
of spidersilk thick in the
air. I was remembering
that there were not enough
rocks for all the throwing.

as the bridge falls into
dust, I fulfill my only
oracle, cradle and all.
