July 26th: i'm not crazy and you're not nice

(the first day of a new design)

"it was a slap in the face, how quickly I was replaced
and are you thinking of me when you fuck her?"
—Alanis (the fury belongs to Miranda)

Dream:

There was an old man who demanded I take off my clothes for him. I refused. He got angry, and fell over dead, and I walked out of the ambulance into sunshine and a cloudless sky. I was in Volunteer Park, and i was trying to remember the way home, but I was lost. I found a trail of rocks, which led me into a deep glen, a place that I hadn't been meaning to go but had ended up anyway.

The trail was muddy, and I was trying not to get my clothes dirty.

There was someone dancing on a bridge, and veils fell over everything.

Reality:

I've been having a really grand few days.

The Lauras (the evil Laura and the good Laura and the good Laura's friend Amy went out together. We went to the house of this couple that the good Laura knows, and we petted cats and were given a tour of the area and ate bratwurst and grilled veggies. It was an entirely pleasant day--I've really missed the evil Laura. (I've missed the good Laura and Storm, too, but I see them a little bit more often than the evil Laura.)

I was also reminded of how much i miss Rich. We were talking about him yesterday, and apparently he called the Lauras out of the blue (or maybe not so out of the blue...it seem we have more of a connection than I used to think. Perhaps I am the siren, again), and then called me at work. He might come out in October. Or not. It really depends.

I was just remembering how much i adore him...and how, of all the men I know, only he and Greglin are ones I would date again.

And, speaking of dating, things continue to move in the depths of the relationship between Melli and I. I can't tell quite what yet, and what i do know i'm not ready to divulge.

But good things are happening. i'm really enjoying my life, for a change. And soon, soon, soon things will change.
